The book opens with a carefully guided introduction to the bass clef – following the work on treble clef in Book 5 and completing students’ understanding of the clefs required at this level. As an essential element of Grade 1 theory, bass clef reading is introduced with clear explanations and supportive reminders, and is integrated throughout the book to build secure note recognition and confident application.

Earlier concepts are consolidated and extended as students refine their understanding across a wide range of topics.
